Admissions
The Tennessee Technology Centers uniformly apply two criteria for admission:
- Applicant must state an employment objective.
- Applicant must show reasonable expectation that he/she can satisfactorily complete the program selected and become gainfully employed.
Each student enrolling on a full-time basis will undergo the school's Technology Foundations assessment program and if found deficient in reading, writing, mathematics, or study skills will attend the school's Technology Foundations program as part of their instructional day. This activity is designed to assist the student in making satisfactory progress in his/her chosen training program.
The minimum age for enrollment is eighteen (18). High school graduation is desirable, but an applicant can be admitted if he/she has been out of school for one year, or has a letter of permission to attend from the local school system.
Certain other educational and physical requirements shall be met by applicants for some programs. Applicants requesting training in Practical Nursing are required to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, have passed the ACT Compass Test, and will be required to have a physical examination prior to final admission.
