TTC Newbern opened its doors to students on June 21, 1965 and has been providing career training to the people of Northwest Tennessee for over 40 years

TTC Newbern is accredited by the Commission on Occupational Education

TTC Newbern is the first to offer Robotics training through Industrial Maintenance to the public sector and for special industry training

TTC Newbern has an articulation agreement with all 13 State Community Colleges for an Associate of Applied Science General Technology Degree

TTC Newbern has an articulation agreement with Jackson State Community College for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Maintenance

TTC Newbern has an articulation agreement with Dyersburg State Community College for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Administrative Office Support

TTC Newbern is the first Technology Center to offer Rapid Prototyping in the Drafting & CAD Technology Program

TTC Newbern is the only postsecondary school in Tennessee with an Automotive Youth Educational System (AYES) program

TTC Newbern is one of only four schools in Tennessee to offer the Ford Motor Company Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) training and certification

The Practical Nursing program is available in two counties (Dyer and Obion)

Most of the TTC Newbern instructors have National Certifications and/or Affiliations in their fields of expertise:

• Our Automotive Program instructor is ASE and NATEF certified

• Our Industrial Maintenance instructor is certified by Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME)

• Our Drafting instructor is certified by the American Design and Drafting Association (ADDA)

• Our HVAC Technology instructor is certified in EPA and Hazardous Waste Disposal and maintains HVAC Excellence Technical Certification making him eligible to certify students in the areas of gas heat, electric heat, oil heat, Hydronics I, Hydronics II, air conditioning, commercial a/c, commercial refrigeration, heat pumps, geothermal, and R-410A

• Our Nursing instructors are both Registered Nurses

• Our Business Systems Technology instructors are certified in Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS), and are members of TBEA, SBEA and NBEA
